Steven Ovando is a passionate advocate who joined Martin Baughman in 2021 after graduating from Baylor University School of Law. Prior to entering Baylor Law School, Steven attended the University of Texas at Austin where he worked two jobs while balancing classes and extracurriculars.
While at Baylor Law School, Steven was a member of Baylor Law’s estate planning clinic, whose members donated their time to help veterans and first responders arrange for the transfer of their assets to their heirs through the creation of wills and other legal documents. Additionally, Steven competed in several interscholastic moot court competitions and was a member of Baylor Law’s Hispanic American Law Student Association. In his last year as a law student, Steven participated in the rigorous Baylor Law Practice Court program, where he experienced hands-on training from some of the best trial lawyers in the country. Eager to begin his career as an advocate, Steven graduated from law school in just twenty-seven months.
Steven’s practice focuses primarily on individual cases, including medical malpractice, birth injury litigation, premises liability, and catastrophic collisions. When he is not in the office, Steven can be found exploring Dallas, exercising, and spending time with his friends and his Great Dane, Kobe.
